Child Safety Standards
Effective date: October 24, 2026
RedFlags Dating App: Unhinged ("Redflags") is a dating app for adults aged 18 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page explains our standards and what we do to keep children off the app and safe.
Our standards
The following are strictly prohibited on Redflags, in profiles, photos, prompts and messages:
- Any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
- Grooming, or attempting to contact, meet or obtain images of anyone under 18
- Offering, requesting, sharing or linking to content involving minors
- Anyone under 18 using the app, or adults posing as or with minors
Breaking these rules leads to immediate and permanent removal of the account, and we report it to the authorities as described below.
Keeping under-18s off the app
- Every member must enter their date of birth, and nobody under 18 can finish signing up or use Discover, matches or chat. The date of birth cannot be changed from the app once set.
- Our profile and chat rules forbid any content involving minors.
- Members can earn a ✓ Verified badge by taking a selfie that our team compares with their profile photos.
- Anyone who seems to be under 18 can be reported in one tap ("Seems under 18"), and our team reviews the account.
Reporting in the app
Any member can report a profile or a conversation from inside the app: open the person's profile and tap Report, or open the chat menu and choose Report. Reasons include "Seems under 18" and "Inappropriate or explicit content". Reporting also blocks the person straight away.
Anyone, including people without an account, can also report concerns by email to support@unhingedredflags.com.
How we act on reports
- Our team reviews every report, together with the reported profile and a copy of the reported conversation, putting accounts reported by several people first.
- Accounts involved in CSAE, or belonging to anyone under 18, are suspended: they can no longer sign in, they are hidden from everyone, their chats are removed and their verified phone number is barred from new accounts.
- Where we become aware of CSAM, we remove it and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline and to the relevant law enforcement authorities, including the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya. We preserve the information needed for these reports as the law requires.
Compliance with the law
We comply with applicable child safety laws in the countries where Redflags is available, including the laws of Kenya, and we cooperate with law enforcement requests made through proper legal channels.
Child safety contact
Our designated contact for child safety, and for questions about these standards, is reachable at support@unhingedredflags.com. This contact can speak to our CSAM prevention practices and compliance.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first. In Kenya you can also call Childline Kenya on 116, free and available at all hours.
